Should’ve released on the PSVita instead the PSP. I replayed this game on my Vita OLED, and it’s actually bearable, gameplay-wise. And it looks gorgeous on an OLED screen. The PSP wasn’t really great with 1st-3rd Person Shooters, they suffered from lacking a right analog stick. Sure, games like MHFW and MGS:PW sorta worked without a right stick, but those were the only exceptions. It would’ve benefitted Squeenix more if they shelved it for a couple of years until the Vita came out. They coulda spent that wait time writing a better plot too; instead of the convoluted mess we ended up getting...on the PSP lol

More and more I find myself veering away from AAA titles and the big game companies and instead looking to indie developers and smaller scale games. With titles like Crow Country and other indie titles you get developers making something new and original, or at least trying to, whereas more mainstream games feel like cookie cutter replicas of each other.

Your take on issen is exactly how I feel. The timing is just absurdly strict, it's really hard to practice it. But then it comes out randomly when you're just button mashing. Such a weirdly annoying mechanic. The HD version looks so good, I really hope they decide to do the same treatment to Onimusha 2, which I never played.

im loving the game but something i have notice and im quite sure about it is that a lot of design choices in this game came straight out of midjourney AI text to image, i have used that tool quite a lot and for example adam´s clothes are so similiar to what i have done in AI, same as the tech spaces covered in plants that look straight out of midjourney. Im still having fun with the game despite the tedious side quests

I think the English translation/localization needs a little bit more heart. My first playthrough was with Korean voice and Chinese subtitles, worked great. Just started new game plus with all English, sadly lots of things just didn't get delivered properly :(

After the series retcon that placed DMC4 after the events of DMC2, Dante's cold, get-it-done personality in the beginning makes much more sense. Then when Nero comes in and holds his own against Dante, Dante starts to slip back into his wacky woohoo pizza man personality from 3 (plus a little more seriousness thanks to DMC1) due to having the hunch that he's Vergil's son, and thus, one of Dante's own family.
